The eagerly awaited Great American Eclipse in 2017 occurred during school holiday and had good weather prospect especially on the western side of the continent. We observed near Idaho Fall with 2 min and 18 seconds of totality under perfectly clear sky with high transparency. In a year of low solar activity, a few sunspot groups suddenly appeared a few days earlier and a lot of colourful prominences were on display during totality. When will you go under the moon shadow?
