Using the technique of star-hopping, we
hunted down a number of bright deep sky objects with binoculars
under a moonless sky. Our main targets include the mushroom-shaped
M41, the ever majestic M42 and M43, the gigantic M44 and the
'ball with an arrow' M35. A small refractor was also used for showing
the sparkling colour of 'winter albireo' in Canis Major and
the beauty of Saturn. |
