Star-Gazing Night - First Light of New Instruments (9-1-2009)

This new year began with the arrival of our new 12 inch dobsonian telescope, delivering breathtaking views such as the sparkling colours of the stars in the Orion trapezium and sigma orionis star clusters. We also watched the half-phase Venus and travelled across the landmarks of the moon. The night ended with astrophotography, using a new equatorial mount and a 5 inch refracting telescope.
