Winter Star Party (16-1-2009)
In the International Year of Astronomy, we held our first outreach programme for about 30 non-members with our latest, biggest telescopes. It was a tour of the best winter celestial objects, including the majestic Orion constellation, the Great Orion Nebula M42, the colourful Sigma Orionis, and the famous Hyades and M45 Pleiades Clusters. The half-lit Venus was definitely one of the most memorable objects of the show, and some students photographed it in Calcium-K and infra-red wavelengths.
