With each student using one iMac, we had our first digital processing workshop of the year. After learning how to process an ordinary landscape picture, we moved on to processing a moon picture. The colours of the moon were significantly enhanced to reveal the different rock types on the moon. In the evening, the S6 Astronomy elective students were treated to a guest lecture and a starlab in which the daily motion of the stars (at different locations on Earth) could be experienced. We also saw the motion of the sun in the celestial sphere in one year, sunrise and sunset in the poles, and the retrograde motion of planets.
