Rope Skipping World Medalists

The AAU Junior Olympic Games, first hosted on August 21, 1967, in downtown Washington, D.C, is the largest national multi-sport event for youth in the United States. This year, Hong Kong was nominated and invited to join the rope skipping event in this championship, held by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and International Rope Skipping Organization (IRSO) together, providing a chance for athletes to compete with foreign jumpers during this 2-day event held in West Des Moines, Iowa from 31/7 to 1/8.

In this event, Hong Kong sent a delegation team of 13 athletes and 2 coaches to Iowa this year, participating in various events, winning 27 Gold, 18 Silver, and 16 Bronze medals in total, while clocking 3 new records. 2 of the Hong Kong team members are from our school – Bella Tsang from S.2 and Fuji Tsang from S.5. Bella has won 7 Gold , 2 Silver and 6 Bronze medals while Fuji has won 1 Silver and 7 Bronze medals.
